Politics of the Machine: Art and After
EVA Copenhagen – to be held at DIAS Kunsthal and Aalborg University Copenhagen,
15-17 May 2018.
To be held in Copenhagen, 2018, EVA Copenhagen is a conference focusing on digital arts and culture, which is part of the international ‘Electronic Visualisation & the Arts’ (EVA) network. The conference will bring together artists and academics working in a broad range of fields related to digital arts. Organised in partnership between Aalborg University (Aalborg, Copenhagen) and Dias: Digital Interactive Art Space (Copenhagen), the conference will host an exhibition of digital artworks, while also presenting a programme of academic papers. In doing so, we aim to bring together practitioners and academics working in digital arts, providing valuable opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, networking, and showcasing of innovative work at the frontiers of digital culture.
The conference will produce a published, peer-reviewed proceedings of papers and artist’s statements/abstracts.
The International EVA Network:
EVA Denmark is part of an international network of conferences, growing out of the EVA London conference, which was founded in 1990, and remains active as a central hub for the EVA network. EVA conferences are held on an ongoing basis, in parallel, and include EVA Australasia, EVA Berlin, EVA Florence, EVA London, EVA / Minerva Jerusalem and EVA St. Petersburg. Previous conferences have also been held in Athens, Beijing, Berlin, Brussels, California, Cambridge [both UK & USA], Dallas, Delhi, Edinburgh, Gifu [Japan], Glasgow, Harvard, Kiev, Laval, Madrid, Montreal, Moscow, New York, Paris, Prague, Thessaloniki and Warsaw. The event boasts prestigious collaborations with the British Computer Society (BCS), The Lumen Prize and others.
